The Chicken Armor® poultry saddle has come a long way since its first prototype.

In 2011, our beloved chicken died. It wasn't a natural death. She'd died from her mating injuries. We were devastated. We were aware of hen saddles but were unable to afford them for a flock of over 80. We were also unwilling to sew them ourselves and to maintain them (ewww...)

But we needed something. After brainstorming and testing different patterns and no-sew materials, we came up with our own patent-pending design that only needed to be hosed clean. We tested it on our flock for another year and decided that there was a micro-niche to be filled - Chicken Armor® was born.

Chicken Armor®'s patent-pending poultry saddles has been mentioned in: The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Times, The Denver Post, Backyard Poultry Magazine, Farm Show Magazine, Hobby Farms Home Magazine, MaryJanes Farm Magazine and Countryside & Small Stock Journal.

It was also an Amber Grant finalist (June 2014), and is part of MaryJane Butter's Project F.A.R.M.

Over 35,000 hen saddles have sold worldwide; to all 50 states, and to countries as diverse as the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Turkey, France, Finland and Norway.
